With a magical array of the season’s best events, this year’s presentation of Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) highly anticipated WinterFest is all set to spread the holiday cheer for visitors and locals alike.
In the next months, Hong Kong transforms into a winter wonderland filled exciting holiday happenings all over the city. The magic kicks off with “The World of Tim Burton” Exhibition from November 5 to January 23 at ArtisTree. People of all ages will enjoy viewing over 500 creations of world-renowned film director Tim Burton, from drawings to paintings, photographs, puppets, sculptural installations, and moving-images.
At Clockenflap Hong Kong’s Music & Arts Festival, you can have a rocking good time watching acts from all over the world come together for three days of celebrating the beauty of art and music. Electronic music masters The Chemical Brothers, critically acclaimed artist M.I.A., and indie rock favorite Foals are just some of the many acts taking the many stages at Cockenflap this November 25 to 27 at Central Harbourfront.
From November 25 to December 28, you can bear witness to the Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show. The spectacular 3D lights show will be accompanied by great music and dazzling images for a complete enchanting experience. Catch it nightly at 8:20pm, 8:45pm, 9:15pm, and 9:45pm at Open Piazza, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui. On weekends, you can catch beloved Hong Kong Christmas Elves and watch the adventures of Eddie the Elf, his friends, and even Santa.
What is Christmas without a tree? From December 2 to January 1, the heart of the city in Statue Square at Central will be the site of a towering tree to spread the joy of the season. Enjoy the joyous festival to the fullest with Santa Claus and his friends during their appearances at Statue Square; and indulge yourself in an array of classic carols performed by a lovely Christmas choir. If you come with your loved ones, do not miss out on hanging your ‘Love Locks’ on the railings to seal your romance.
Then from December 8 to January 1, catch one of Broadway’s and the West End’s most celebrated and successful musicals of all time, Wicked, at the Lyric Theatre at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
The season ends with The Great European Carnival, which will run from December 16 to February 12. Enjoy one of Hong Kong’s largest attractions featuring traditional rides and games and fantastic entertainment, all in front of one of the most iconic skylines in the world.
