US based Microtel chain recently opened its Microtel Inn and Suites in Boracay. The two storey hotel offers double and suite accommodations, all with chiropractic approved beds and other features that Microtel standards are known for. This first in the chain of “Microtel Resort” also has a chlorine free swimming pool and restaurant in its prime beachfront location. There are very few pools that can claim this even in the top cities, so it is to the good fortune of the Microtel Inn that they should capitalize on this.
With the hotel’s island setting, the design of Microtel Boracay harmonizes with the beach ambience particularly in its furnishings, landscape design and with the incorporation of smaller balconies and individual pocket gardens outside some of the rooms. Microtel Boracay has its own waster water treatment plant which the staff proudly brags about as you check in the resort. A subtle way of helping promote good environmental practice in the island as well as the with the Microtel chain itself. The resort’s sound environmental and ecological practices are also visible in their use of solar powered electricity for the resorts energy requirements. All too often the pace of civilization literally strips the nature out of a perfectly natural surrounding. The unbridled development of resort areas is witness to this sad development, with a wanton disregard for the environment. Luckily for Boracay, that despite being a world class and heavy weight among hotel developers, Microtel still has that heart in seeking to preserve the natural beauty of its properties.
And there’s the usual required amenities – massage treats, private outdoor showers, and a pristine private beach. But should you feel compelled to leave what is quite literally the highlight of island luxury, Microtel Inn and Suites Boracay will make the descent worthwhile. Snorkeling, mountain biking and a variety of other day trips can be arranged for the restless island adventurer. There’s a host of PADI schools which organizes dive trips for daily stakeouts of corals and other pelagic wonders in neighboring island reefs.
